Chapter 6
âChickens!â Giselle gasped, jackknifing up in the bed and looking around.
Felix jerked awake, startled. One moment, he was having a very nice dream about making love to Giselle again, cupping her beautiful breasts while he thrust into her heat â¦and the next moment, he was jerked away from that enticing dream with the horror ofâ¦?
âDid you just yell âchickensâ?â he asked, rubbing the scruff of his beard.
She turned around and looked down at him, her brown eyes wide with worry. That worry woke him up faster than anything else. âWhatâs wrong?â
âMy chickens!â She climbed out of bed. âThey have an automatic feeder, but they need me!â
Giselle frantically searched for a shirt, or anything, to cover up her nakedness. As soon as Felix realized what she was doing, he chuckled, stood up ,and simply lifted her into his arms. He was naked as well and didnât give a damn. Giselle was going to have to get used to being naked because, with a body like hers, he would love watching her walk around naked.
âItâs still dark outside. I thought chickens were diurnal.â
âThey are,â Giselle replied, quickly wrapping one arm around his shoulders as he carried her to the bathroom. He lowered her feet to the floor and flipped on the shower. âBut they need me. I need to collect their eggs and talk to them. I need to make sure they are okay.â
He understood. âWeâll get there,â he promised. âLetâs shower and Iâll grab some ingredients. Then weâll head over to your place and you can teach me how to take care of the chickens, okay?â
He saw the anxiety ease from her pretty features. She took a brief moment to look out the window to confirm for herself that it was still dark outside. As soon as that fact sunk into her sleep-starved brain, she relaxed. âYouâre right. Itâs still dark and my ladies will probably be asleep.â
She turned around, about to reach for a towel but he grabbed her hands and guided her into the extra-large shower. It was big enough to fit both of them as well as probably a half dozen other people.
âWhy is your shower so huge?â she asked, stepping under one of the sprays of water. âAnd why do you have several shower heads?â
He kissed her bare shoulder. âI designed an extra-large shower because I donât like feeling cramped. Iâm a big guy,â he pointed out as he handed her the bar of soap. âI like to have enough elbow room.â
She turned, smiling up at him as she placed a kiss on his chest. âI have the opposite problem. With my height, some spaces feel too large.â
He smiled, taking the soap and using it on her back. âI like your size.â
She laughed and spun around, but he wouldnât let her have the soap. He simply started washing the front of her body.
âI need to lose some weight,â she sighed, moving his hand higher when his fingers lingered on the soft curve of her stomach.
âI love your curves, Giselle.
